Role details
This is a contract, onsite role based in Austin, TX (zip 78744). Duration: 12 months with possible extension. The confidential client is seeking an experienced Power BI Platform Administrator to manage enterprise analytics platforms (primary: Microsoft Power BI; backup/support: Tableau). The role focuses on platform administration, governance, report development support, performance tuning, and user enablement.
What You’ll Do
- Administer Power BI tenants, workspaces, datasets, dataflows, gateways, security, and licensing.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
- Monitor platform performance, capacity, reliability, and usage; identify and remediate bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot report performance, data refreshes, connectivity, and access issues.
- Implement and enforce governance standards, deployment practices, and lifecycle processes.
- Provide technical support, training, and documentation for business users and report authors.
- Support Microsoft Fabric administration and assist with Tableau platform operations as needed.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience with enterprise BI and analytics platforms.
- 5+ years of Power BI report and dashboard development experience.
- 4+ years of Power BI platform administration and governance experience.
- 3+ years of Microsoft Fabric administration, implementation, or support experience.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud administration.
- Background in enterprise analytics governance and deployment pipelines.
- Experience with reporting automation and data integration processes.
Compensation & Employment Type
- Employment type: Contract
- Base pay range: $50.00/hr – $55.00/hr (hourly)
