Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst (Data Quality & Governance) to support a remote data cleanup initiative. This role focuses on identifying data quality issues, defining correction rules, and partnering with stakeholders to improve data accuracy and compliance across systems. This is a remote opportunity for U.S.-based candidates.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze datasets to identify accuracy, completeness, and consistency issues.
- Triage and prioritize data quality problems across systems.
- Design and document practical rules and remediation steps for correcting data issues.
- Execute or support automated and manual data cleanup processes (SQL-based, Excel-driven).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations, compliance) to implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to and enforce data governance standards and best practices.
- Produce clear documentation and reports showing issues, root causes, and remediation status.
Required Qualifications
- Strong SQL skills (writing queries to profile, clean, and validate data).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data transformation).
- Experience with data governance frameworks or practices.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and remediating data quality issues.
- Ability to translate data issues into repeatable correction rules and processes.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with multiple stakeholders in a remote environment.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on data cleanup initiatives or data migration projects.
- Familiarity with data profiling tools or data quality platforms.
- Prior experience in Climate Data and Analytics or related domains (preferred, not required).
