Data Analyst (Remote)

What You’ll Do
This role focuses on evaluating, annotating, and improving multimodal AI model reasoning over visual and quantitative data (charts, scientific plots, tables). Working with the Confidential Client’s AI research and data teams, you will:
- Evaluate and create complex reasoning datasets that pair visual data (heatmaps, multi-axis charts, contour plots, Sankey diagrams, scatter/box plots) with multi-step analytical solutions.
- Audit AI-generated visual-reasoning outputs for mathematical correctness, logical coherence, and accurate interpretation of axes, scales, and legends.
- Identify hallucinations, misreadings of visual encodings, and flawed quantitative inferences in model outputs.
- Produce clear, step-by-step ground-truth explanations and worked solutions for intricate visual-data questions.
- Help design annotation guidelines and quality checks to ensure consistent, reproducible dataset labels and reasoning chains.
What We're Looking For
Candidates should demonstrate advanced quantitative literacy and experience communicating complex analyses in writing.
- Degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics) or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong practical ability to read, interpret, and derive insights from complex visual formats (multi-variable tables, scatter plots, box plots, contour plots, Sankey diagrams, multi-axis charts).
- Prior experience in data analysis, scientific research, quantitative modeling, or AI model evaluation/annotation.
- Excellent written English with the ability to break down multi-step quantitative logic into clear, structured explanations.
- Proven attention to detail and experience fact-checking calculations, trends, and derivations.
- Must currently reside in and be authorized to work in the United States or Canada.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience working with multimodal or reasoning-focused AI projects.
- Familiarity with statistical plotting tools (Matplotlib, ggplot, seaborn) or data tools (Pandas, R).
- Experience writing annotation instructions, QA procedures, or reviewer training materials.
