Data Analyst
The Director of Real World Data & Epidemiology Analytics leads the design, execution, and communication of observational studies using diverse real-world data sources to generate evidence supporting clinical development, market access, and business strategy. This role requires advanced expertise in epidemiology, statistical methodologies, AI-driven analytics, and data infrastructure, while providing leadership and cross-functional collaboration to drive high-quality evidence generation and team development within a biotechnology environment.

What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support real-world data (RWD) analytics, observational study execution, and advanced analytical methods. You will partner across clinical, commercial, and data engineering teams to design studies, analyze claims/EHR datasets, and translate results into clear scientific and business insights.
- Design, execute, and report observational studies using claims, EHR, registries, and patient-generated data
- Conduct feasibility assessments to identify appropriate RWD sources
- Create and manage analytic datasets, table shells, and statistical analysis plans
- Apply advanced statistical techniques: survival analysis, regression, IPTW, MAIC, and causal inference
- Perform programming and analysis using SAS, R, and/or Python
- Lead AI/ML pilot projects for RWD applications and evaluate emerging analytics tools
- Support survival and economic modeling for HTA and health-policy initiatives
- Ensure studies meet scientific, regulatory, and quality standards; implement QC processes
- Present designs, interim results, and final findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Partner with data and engineering teams to improve pipelines, reproducibility, and scalability
- Mentor junior scientists and programmers; help build best-practice governance for study execution
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field required; graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or related field preferred
- 10+ years of experience in real-world evidence generation, observational research, or epidemiology analytics
- Proven expertise in observational study design and epidemiologic methods
- Hands-on experience with claims and/or EHR datasets
- Strong statistical programming skills in SAS, R, and/or Python
- Practical experience with AI/ML frameworks and advanced analytics
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Skills
- Oncology experience or exposure to pharmaceutical/biotech research strongly preferred
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications or demonstrated research accomplishments
- Experience leading complex observational research programs
- Commercial and clinical strategic mindset; experience with HTA or market-access analytics
Compensation & Logistics
- For U.S.-based candidates, the proposed salary range is: $231,280 – $346,920 per year.
- Employment type: Part-time (as posted). Final offer and employment terms will be set by Confidential Client.
- Location: Princeton, NJ (on-site or hybrid as defined by the hiring manager). Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
