Data Analyst
The Data Analyst at Confidential Client is responsible for analyzing business needs and data processes to develop and maintain data solutions that support operational decision-making and performance monitoring. This role involves collaborating with IT and business stakeholders, utilizing SQL Server, Power Query, and Python to automate and validate data workflows, and leading projects that improve business processes and system functionality.

What You’ll Do
You will partner with business stakeholders, IT developers, and data teams to turn operational data into clear, actionable insights that improve processes and support decision-making.
- Have a deep understanding of business needs, application functionality, data processes, and data integration workflows.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between business users and technical teams.
- Elicit and document preliminary business requirements; translate them into technical requirements or actionable analyses.
- Build, run, and maintain queries, reports, dashboards, and data models to support operational analysis and performance monitoring.
- Extract, transform, analyze, validate, and automate data pipelines using SQL Server, Power Query, and Python.
- Reconcile client accounts and enrollment/ID card data by comparing client files to internal datasets; summarize findings for leadership and external customers.
- Troubleshoot data issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to IT and business leadership.
- Participate in sprint planning and project meetings to help ensure development milestones and sprint goals are met.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects that impact workflows, processes, and system functionality.
- Create and maintain procedural documentation, runbooks, and technical reference materials.
- Respond to complex ad-hoc requests requiring investigation, evaluation, and clear documentation of results.
- Assist with staff training and change management to implement new procedures with minimal disruption.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred — or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, data analysis, or operations analytics.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and troubleshooting T‑SQL queries for data validation and analysis.
- Hands-on experience using Power Query for data extraction, transformation, automation, and reporting.
- Experience using Python (Pandas/NumPy) for data analysis, validation, automation, and reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort using SQL-based tools for analysis.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and deliver on projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of data structures, business processes, and production system data flows.
- Customer-service orientation and a collaborative approach when working with business and technical teams.
Preferred Technical Skills
- SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- T‑SQL query development and performance troubleshooting
- Power Query and Power BI
- Python (Pandas, NumPy, automation and reporting)
- Data reconciliation, data quality analysis, and root-cause investigation
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
