What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Data Analyst to build the analytics layer that helps internal teams and customers understand financial and operational data. This is a foundational role: you’ll design dashboards, define core metrics, and surface insights that drive product and business decisions.

• Partner with product, engineering, and customer teams to gather analytics requirements
• Design and build dashboards, reports, and analytical tools for internal and external users
• Write complex SQL queries to analyze large-scale financial and operational datasets
• Define, document, and maintain key business metrics and KPIs
• Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities in retailer, sales, and financial data
• Drive analytics projects from exploration through delivery and communicate findings clearly
• Collaborate with engineers to improve data models and the quality of underlying datasets

Example Problems You’ll Solve

• Build custom dashboards for brands to understand retailer performance and product placement
• Analyze deduction and dispute data to find operational inefficiencies and cost drivers
• Design analytics that help brands forecast sales and demand
• Combine and transform disparate sources into clean, analysis-ready datasets
• Turn complex financial data into intuitive visual insights for non-technical users

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 2+ years in data analysis or analytics roles
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
• Strong experience building dashboards and analytical reports
• Ability to translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have

• Experience with BI tools (Looker, Mode, Omni, etc.)
• Experience with financial, retail, or operational datasets
• Comfort working directly with users and customers
• Interest in early-stage, high-ownership roles
• Technical or quantitative degree

Compensation & Location

• Employment type: Full-time
• Location: New York, NY — Relocation supported
• Compensation range: $155,000 - $200,000 (USD, annual)
