What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is hiring a Data Analyst to transform operational, financial, customer, product, and program data into reliable, timely, and actionable insights. You will build reusable datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and analyses that guide leaders, identify opportunities, and reduce risk.

• Own analyses from requirements discovery through transformation, modeling, validation, visualization, delivery, and ongoing support
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Marketing, Sales, Product, and other stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting logic, and success measures
• Design and document metrics, assumptions, transformations, and data lineage for maintainable analytics assets
• Apply appropriate statistical and analytical methods; communicate uncertainty and avoid overclaiming causation
• Build intuitive dashboards, scorecards, semantic models, and recurring reports using Power BI (primary) and Tableau as needed
• Write, review, and optimize complex SQL (CTEs, window functions, performance-aware queries) across relational DBs and cloud warehouses
• Clean, profile, map, join, and transform structured and semi-structured data with Power Query, Python/pandas, and spreadsheets
• Design fact/dimension models using star-schema principles and produce clear source-to-target mappings
• Contribute to ETL/ELT workflows (dbt, Azure Data Factory, Fabric, AWS Glue, Databricks) and monitor/data-lineage documentation
• Create validation rules, reconciliations, exception reports, and durable fixes for data quality issues
• Reduce manual reporting via scheduled refreshes, parameterized workflows, Power Automate, and reusable templates
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences, emphasizing narrative and design
• Support embedded/custom analytics experiences with JavaScript visualization libraries (Recharts, D3.js, Plotly.js, Chart.js) where appropriate
• Explore responsible uses of Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, and generative AI to accelerate discovery and documentation while validating outputs

Minimum Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional experience in data analytics, BI, reporting, or a closely related role
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, computer science, information systems, or equivalent practical experience
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregation, validation)
• Strong hands-on Power BI experience: Power Query, DAX, semantic modeling, interactive report design, refresh strategies, workspace management, row-level security
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience reconciling and validating multi-source data
• Working knowledge of dimensional data modeling, KPI design, ETL/ELT concepts, and source-to-target mapping
• Experience using Python with pandas and/or R for data manipulation and exploratory analysis
• Understanding of descriptive statistics, sampling, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing
• Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, manage priorities, communicate findings, and influence decisions
• Must have or be able to obtain a United States Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with dbt, Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Factory, AWS Glue, Databricks, or comparable orchestration platforms
• Experience building Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate) with governed enterprise data connections
• Familiarity with Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, or secure AI-assisted analytics workflows
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar generative-AI frameworks for verifiable analytics use cases
• Experience with JavaScript visualization libraries (Recharts, D3.js, Plotly.js, Chart.js) and component-based chart tooling
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift
• Familiarity with Git, analytics testing, version-controlled SQL/semantic models, and CI/CD practices
• Experience with data catalogs, lineage, sensitivity labels, and governance platforms (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
• Experience designing experiments, A/B test analysis, forecasting, and regression methods

Compensation & Benefits

• Total compensation range: $133,000 to $166,000 per year (based on qualifications)
• Eligibility for annual discretionary bonus
