What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support energy and utility data management for a financial services environment. This contract role centers on Microsoft Excel work to ensure data accuracy across utility types and measurement units.

  • Perform data entry, validation, and quality checks using Microsoft Excel
  • Review utility data related to electricity, oil, water, and waste
  • Verify and convert energy units; ensure consistency across datasets
  • Review invoices and investigate billing discrepancies
  • Coordinate with facilities management to clarify data and billing rationale
  • Maintain accurate records and support regular reporting activities

Who You Are — Required Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience (data entry, validation, or similar)
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (functions, lookups, data validation)
  • Understanding of energy and utility consumption units and basic conversions
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with utility billing, energy data, or facilities/property management data
  • Strong follow-up, curiosity, and problem-solving mindset
  • Prior exposure to financial services or reporting processes (helpful but not required)

Logistics & Schedule

  • Location: New York, NY — Hybrid (onsite 3 days/week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Duration: 3 months (possible extension)
  • Employment type: Contract (Associate-level)
  • Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Candidates must be comfortable working onsite 3 days per week in New York City

Interview Process

  • First round: Virtual interview
  • Second round: In-person interview in NYC (candidates will complete an Excel assessment beforehand)
