The Data Analyst at Confidential Client's Optical Connectivity Group is responsible for improving data quality and delivering actionable business insights to support product development and operational decisions. What You’ll Do
This role supports a cross-functional product development organization by improving data quality, creating trusted views of business performance, and delivering actionable analysis that informs portfolio, financial, resource, and operational decisions. You will work closely with leaders and subject matter experts across engineering, product, project management, finance, operations, and supply chain.
- Clean, standardize, reconcile, and validate data from SAP and other enterprise systems to improve accuracy and usability.
- Identify data gaps, duplicate records, inconsistent definitions, and other quality issues; investigate root causes and coordinate corrective actions with system and business owners.
- Establish repeatable processes, business rules, and controls to reduce recurring cleanup and improve ongoing data quality.
- Analyze business, financial, operational, project, portfolio, capital, and resource data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for value creation.
- Connect information across multiple systems to create trusted, consolidated views of performance.
- Develop and maintain common definitions, KPIs, calculation methods, and documentation for critical business data.
- Support portfolio prioritization, capital planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and project reviews through clear analysis and recommendations.
- Move analysis beyond descriptive reporting by investigating drivers, producing insights, and recommending actions.
- Reduce manual data collection and reconciliation through process improvement, automation, and appropriate use of AI-enabled tools.
- Translate business questions into analytical requirements and sustainable solutions by partnering with functional leaders, system owners, and technical teams.
- Communicate complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and influence decisions with data-driven recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience analyzing business, financial, operational, project, or portfolio data.
- Experience working with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
- Demonstrated experience cleaning, combining, reconciling, validating, and interpreting data from multiple systems.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel or comparable analytical tools.
- Experience developing and applying business metrics, KPIs, and analytical methods.
- Strong ability to investigate data discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement data quality improvements.
- Ability to translate analysis into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and structured problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills across multiple business functions.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize work, and independently structure analytical assignments.
Preferred Qualifications (What Will Put You Ahead)
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business analytics, finance, engineering, information systems, statistics, mathematics, supply chain, or related discipline.
- Experience supporting product development, engineering, manufacturing, operations, finance, supply chain, or project management organizations.
- Familiarity with SAP data structures, master data, or reporting processes.
- Experience analyzing project portfolios, resource capacity, capital investments, or financial forecasts.
- Proficiency with SQL or similar tools for extracting, cleaning, and validating data.
- Experience with data governance, master data management, or data stewardship.
- Experience automating recurring data preparation, reconciliation, or reporting.
- Experience with forecasting, scenario analysis, statistical methods, or predictive analytics.
- Experience using AI-assisted analytical or automation tools.
- Track record presenting insights and recommendations to business leaders.
Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated base pay: $90,000 - $115,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay (monetary bonus or other forms).
