What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a full-time Junior Data Analyst (Remote) to support transportation-focused research and analytics for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission. This entry-level role combines qualitative and quantitative data analysis, risk assessment, documentation support, and meeting coordination to help drive mission outcomes.

• Conduct data analysis and research to support client mission requirements.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative research leveraging Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
• Review, analyze, and evaluate processes, information, and datasets related to transportation assets.
• Assess and track risks associated with transportation assets; report on mitigation status.
• Apply analytical and creative problem solving to complex data challenges.
• Support risk assessment workflows and mission-related analytical activities.
• Provide scheduling and coordination support for meetings and deliverables.
• Create and maintain project documentation: agendas, schedules, presentation decks, and meeting minutes.
• Participate in work group meetings and organizational events to support mission needs.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver actionable research and analytical solutions.
• Maintain flexibility to meet client timelines; may occasionally work more than 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, research, or related analytical activities.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must reside in a HUBZone (as required by the client).
• Must reside within 200 miles of the Washington, DC region.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
• Familiarity with other analytical tools and methods.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and to support deliverables under tight timelines.
• Pass company and client background checks as required for federal contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance preferred.
• Experience supporting government, DHS, intelligence, law enforcement, civilian, or defense environments.
• Exposure to transportation risk assessment or asset-focused analytics.

Security & Background Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Selected candidates must successfully pass a company and client comprehensive background check.
• A Secret-level government security clearance is preferred; if not already held, clearance sponsorship may be required depending on client needs.

Work Arrangement & Location

• This position is primarily remote but may require in-person office hours or meetings as needed to support client needs in Springfield, Virginia.
• Candidates must be within 200 miles of the Washington, DC region and must reside in a HUBZone.
• Telework and remote work availability may vary by assignment and client requirements.
• Applicant must be willing to travel occasionally if required for mission support.

• Base salary: $50,000–$75,000 per year.
