Role summary
Confidential Client is seeking a Data Analyst II to join a Retail analytics team in Bentonville, AR. This hands-on analyst will turn complex data into reliable, actionable insights that influence product, sales, and operational decisions. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to centralize reporting, standardize metrics, and build scalable analytics solutions — moving beyond ad hoc reporting toward forward-looking, AI-enabled tools.
What you’ll do
- Analyze complex business data across multiple domains to support decision-making and project delivery.
- Identify, collect, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring data quality.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools to communicate insights clearly.
- Apply statistical techniques and scripting to discover trends, correlations, and anomalies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
- Support data cleansing, metadata management, and operational data store processes.
- Present findings to influence strategy and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll bring
- Strong SQL proficiency and experience with database technologies; experience with distributed datastores such as Google BigQuery preferred.
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
- Solid data cleansing, integration, and data quality expertise.
- Familiarity with scripting and analytics tools (Python, R, Spark, Scala, or similar) to automate workflows.
- Ability to apply statistical methods to analyze business metrics and generate actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work with product, sales, and operations teams.
Minimum qualifications
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Finance or a related field.
Option 2: 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or a related field.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant quantitative field (Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, etc.).
- Experience in retail, merchandising, eCommerce, or related industries.
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL + BigQuery and at least one modern BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Experience with scripting for analytics (Python, R, Spark) and successful completion of technical assessments.
Compensation & benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 – $130,000 per year.
- Eligible for performance-based bonus awards and potential equity/stock awards, depending on role.
