Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Data Analyst I to join its data & analytics team (Insurance). This role focuses on gathering, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data to inform business decisions. You’ll work with stakeholders across the organization, support data governance, and help deliver dashboards and reports that influence operational and strategic outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify analytics opportunities and translate needs into measurable requirements.
- Collect, validate, clean, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources (databases, warehouses, external datasets).
- Write and optimize SQL (and/or Snowflake) queries to extract and join data for reporting and analysis.
- Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations in BI tools to communicate trends and KPIs to non-technical audiences.
- Perform exploratory and basic predictive analyses to surface trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support data governance by maintaining data inventories, dictionaries, and quality controls.
- Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests and deliver timely, actionable insights.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and streamline data workflows.
- Present findings to operational teams and leadership via written summaries and presentations.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate on backlog items and delivery priorities.
What We’re Looking For (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience (or 5 years equivalent work experience).
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (entry-level candidates and internships welcome).
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manipulate and analyze large spreadsheets.
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations in BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
- Strong verbal and written communication — able to translate technical results into business recommendations.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
- Experience with Snowflake and writing complex SQL queries.
- Familiarity with insurance industry data, terminology, and processes.
- Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, or AI-driven insights.
- Advanced storytelling and data visualization skills.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
Skills & Technical Knowledge
- Relational and NoSQL data concepts, ETL, and data extraction techniques.
- Data governance fundamentals: privacy, security, and data quality best practices.
- Ability to analyze structured and unstructured data and interpret patterns.
- Comfortable using spreadsheets, databases, and scripting to automate tasks.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $66,000 – $89,500 annually.
- This range reflects expected experience and skill levels; final compensation depends on individual qualifications.
