About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring a hands-on, mid-level Data Analyst (Finance) to own forecasting, P&L reporting, and financial data integrity for DTC e‑commerce brands. You will translate raw transaction and processor data into a P&L the business trusts, partner closely with Finance, and build dashboards and forecasts that guide decisions.

This is a fully remote, full-time role (TELECOMMUTE). The authoritative job location is Burbank, CA (for posting and compliance purposes).

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain financial forecasts for revenue, orders, subscription renewals, and expenses by brand and channel; keep forecasts updated as actuals arrive.
  • Track forecast vs. actual performance, explain variances, and escalate meaningful misses to Finance.
  • Produce P&L reporting (revenue, gross vs. net sales, discounts, refunds, COGS, contribution margin) by brand, channel, and product.
  • Report unit economics (contribution margin, payback period, profitability) and support month-end close with tied-out data.
  • Lead reconciliation investigations for revenue discrepancies across payment processors (Stripe, Shopify Payments, Amazon), bank deposits, internal DB, and accounting (QuickBooks).
  • Reconcile marketing/ad spend across platforms and invoices against finance records; document root causes and work with engineers to fix issues at the source.
  • Apply business logic to transform raw transaction data in Snowflake using SQL and transformation tools (dbt, KNIME, Python, or similar).
  • Prepare the “last mile” of data for Finance: data prep, transformation, and high-impact dashboards in Sigma (or Tableau/Looker/Power BI).
  • Document metric definitions and business logic so teams share a single source of truth.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–3 years of hands-on data analysis experience supporting finance (mid-level, not junior or senior architect).
  • Proven experience building and maintaining financial forecasts used by Finance (SQL, spreadsheets, or BI tools).
  • Strong financial acumen: revenue recognition, COGS, gross vs. net sales, refunds, contribution margin.
  • Direct experience with DTC e‑commerce data: Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Stripe.
  • Advanced SQL skills in Snowflake; experience building dashboards in Sigma (or Tableau/Looker/Power BI).
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Familiarity with data transformation tools (dbt, KNIME, Alteryx) or Python/pandas for last‑mile prep.
  • Comfortable communicating with Data Engineers about ELT/ETL (Fivetran, Hevo, Airbyte, etc.) and owning metric definitions.

Nice to Have

  • Direct familiarity with QuickBooks reporting structure.
  • Prior experience reconciling processor payouts to bank deposits and accounting entries.
  • Experience working in high-growth DTC brands and supporting cross-functional Finance stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year (based on experience).
  • Excellent medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Fully remote, full-time position with a monthly WFH stipend.
  • Generous paid time off and employee product discounts.
  • Collaborative, growth-oriented team environment.

Confidential Client — Workplace & Culture

Confidential Client values ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning. You’ll work with operators and builders who expect rigorous data, candid feedback, and thoughtful execution. If you enjoy tracing a single transaction through the data lifecycle to find the truth, you’ll thrive here.
