Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an experienced epidemiology-focused analytics leader to design, run, and communicate observational studies using diverse real-world data (RWD) sources. This role combines epidemiology, advanced statistical methods, programming (SAS/R/Python), and AI/ML to generate real-world evidence that supports clinical development, market access, and health-policy decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end observational and epidemiologic studies: feasibility, protocol, analysis, QC, and final reporting.
- Evaluate and select data sources (claims, EHR, registries, patient-generated data, genomics, SDOH) for study suitability.
- Develop study protocols, statistical analysis plans, programming specifications, and reproducible QC processes.
- Apply advanced methods (survival analysis, regression, IPTW, MAIC, causal inference) and support HTA-related survival and economic modeling.
- Implement and scale AI/ML applications within RWD and epidemiology workflows.
- Present study designs and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor and coach RWD/epidemiology scientists and programmers; build standardized governance and documentation.
- Partner with data engineering and IT to improve reproducibility, security, and analytics infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For — Required
- Master’s or PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in real-world evidence generation and epidemiology analytics.
- Deep knowledge of observational study design and advanced statistical methods.
- Hands-on programming experience with claims/EHR data using SAS, R, or Python.
- Practical experience applying AI/ML frameworks to analytic workflows.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology experience or therapy-area knowledge relevant to the client’s portfolio.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications or impactful RWE studies.
- Experience designing scalable analytics infrastructure, governance, and reproducible pipelines.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring scientists and technical teams.
- Experience integrating emerging RWD modalities (genomics, biomarkers, clinical notes, SDOH).

- Competitive U.S. salary range: $231,280–$346,920 (annual) for U.S.-based candidates.
