What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Data Analyst to support the Division of Housing Opportunity’s Homeless Placement Services (HPS) unit. You will maintain and analyze operational data, produce regular reports and performance metrics, support project intake/onboarding for new housing projects, and coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure accurate and timely placements.

  • Maintain and update tracking systems and databases (Access, Excel, SharePoint) that monitor projects, units, referrals, placements, and related program activity.
  • Produce, analyze, and distribute internal and external reports on workload, targets, production, placements, and key performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and performance metrics to help leadership monitor program and operational performance.
  • Perform data quality checks, identify discrepancies and trends, and recommend process improvements.
  • Support project intake and onboarding — enter new projects into tracking systems, liaise with managing agents, monitor readiness, and track required inspections and prerequisites for lease-up and assignment.
  • Coordinate with program areas and partners (including social services partners) to support accurate and timely referrals and placements.
  • Manage and track a portfolio of set-aside units when assigned; provide referrals and placement tracking as needed.
  • Document procedures and maintain resources to support consistent data practices across the unit.
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests and complete special analyses and reports for Division leadership.
  • Provide cross-functional support to the HPS Unit and Division as priorities require.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications (one of the following):

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities related to the duties above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community-centered activities related to the duties above; or
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience as described above. All candidates must have at least one year of the experience described in option 1.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing reports and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SharePoint, and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams).
  • Experience maintaining databases, tracking systems, and reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working with internal staff and external partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs, homeless housing programs, housing subsidies, and relevant New York City program rules is a plus.
  • Ability to learn multiple databases, systems, and business processes quickly.

Compensation & Terms

Salary range (provided by Confidential Client): $62,868 – $72,298 per year.

Employment type: Full-time.

Residency requirement: New York City residency may be required within 90 days of appointment per program rules; candidates will be advised during the hiring process if this applies.
