What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Data Analyst to turn operational and business data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across the energy (natural gas) business. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to build reports and dashboards, analyze trends, and support data-driven decisions.

• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational improvement
• Develop and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and visual reports
• Create data visualizations that communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences
• Perform data collection, cleaning, validation, and quality assurance
• Produce recurring and ad-hoc reports for management and internal teams
• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and reporting specifications
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and investigate anomalies
• Collaborate with IT, Operations, Finance, and Engineering on data-related projects
• Document data sources, reporting processes, and analytical methods
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for reporting and analytics workflows

Minimum Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Tableau (dashboards, filters, calculated fields)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Strong attention to detail and experience working with large datasets
• Ability to present analytical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Good organizational and time-management skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience in the energy sector, utilities, or natural gas operations
• Experience with additional BI tools or scripting (Python, R, Power BI)
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
• Exposure to KPI design and operational performance metrics

Compensation & Logistics

• Employment type: Contract (CONTRACTOR)
• Location: Dallas, TX (on-site / client site)
• Pay: $31.00 – $35.00 per hour (hourly rate, as provided by the client)
• This role will interact closely with business and technical teams across the organization
