Position overview

This is an entry-level Data Analyst role (Full‑time) for a confidential client operating in the Artificial Intelligence and IT services space. The role is remote within California (telecommute) and is a great opportunity for candidates with 0–2 years of analytic experience who want strong mentorship and on‑the‑job growth.


What you’ll do

  • Write SQL queries to extract, aggregate, and join data from relational databases.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports using Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio.
  • Clean, validate, and transform data using Python (pandas) or Excel to ensure analysis accuracy.
  • Run basic statistical and exploratory analyses (trends, distributions, correlations).
  • Translate business questions into analytical tasks and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Document data pipelines, definitions, and maintain a data dictionary for core metrics.
  • Automate repetitive reporting where possible to improve efficiency.
  • Respond to ad‑hoc data requests from product, marketing, and operations teams.

What we’re looking for

  • 0–2 years of experience in data analysis or a related discipline.
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL (querying, filtering, aggregations).
  • Basic experience with Python, especially pandas, or strong willingness to learn quickly.
  • Comfortable making charts/tables in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with at least one BI/dashboard tool (Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to present findings clearly.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to organize analytical work.
  • Self‑starter who can manage time and priorities in a remote environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new tools, methods, and techniques.

Nice to have (preferred)

  • Coursework or a degree in a quantitative field (economics, statistics, computer science, math) — preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to product or marketing analytics.
  • Experience with version control (Git) or basic scripting to automate workflows.
