Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Data Analyst (Information Technology & Applications) for a contract engagement based in California. This role focuses on workforce analytics, capacity planning, and operational reporting to support staffing strategy and service-level performance. Contract is approximately 6 months. The estimated pay is $63.45/hr (hourly rate provided by the source and subject to change based on experience).


What You’ll Do

  • Develop quantitative staffing, capacity-planning, demand-forecasting, and scenario-based models to evaluate resource requirements and operational performance.
  • Analyze operational, workforce, staffing, throughput, and service data to identify trends, coverage gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, recurring reports, and analytical tools that provide visibility into operational performance, workforce coverage, capacity, and readiness.
  • Use SQL and Python (Pandas) to extract, transform, validate, and combine data from multiple systems; investigate and resolve data-quality issues.
  • Provide data-driven decision support for operational initiatives, staffing strategies, resource allocation, and ad-hoc analyses; communicate practical recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative/technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, operations analytics, workforce analytics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with Python and Pandas for data extraction, manipulation, processing, and analysis.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Looker, Tableau, Databricks, or comparable analytics/visualization tools, and handling large, complex datasets.
  • Strong quantitative problem-solving, communication, organizational, and data-quality skills; demonstrated ability to apply analytical models to workforce planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and capacity management.

Compensation & Duration

  • Pay: $63.45 per hour (estimated; final offer based on experience and client policies).
  • Duration: Approximately 6 months (contract).
