What You’ll Do
This is a reporting and analysis role at the intersection of finance, trading operations, and data engineering. You will deliver accurate, auditable data to stakeholders including front-office teams, Tax, Legal, auditors, and regulators.
- Build and run extracts against firm data stores to answer business requests
- Produce and improve market-share reporting and analytics
- Support quarterly and annual tax and regulatory inquiries across jurisdictions
- Respond to audit, litigation, and class-action data requests under tight deadlines
- Validate every extract before delivery — reconcile against source systems and investigate discrepancies
- Document business rules and decision provenance for each report
- Identify repeatable request patterns and partner with engineering to create dashboards, scheduled reports, or self-service views
- Write clear specifications: define business logic, edge cases, and validation criteria for engineering/BI teams
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 5+ years in data analysis, business intelligence, financial reporting, or analytics engineering
- Advanced SQL: complex joins, aggregations, CTEs, and query performance reasoning
- Python for data work (pandas, DB connectivity, repeatable scripts)
- Experience with financial data (trades, positions, pricing, or reference data)
- Demonstrated care with accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Clear written communication for non-technical stakeholders (accountants, lawyers, auditors)
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field
- Experience specifying requirements for engineering teams or building BI tooling (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- Exposure to tax, VAT/GST, or regulatory reporting
Preferred
- Prior work in Capital Markets / Financial Services or similar regulated environments
- Experience automating recurring reporting tasks and building durable BI solutions
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $100,000 to $130,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Eligible for annual discretionary bonus
