Role Overview

This is a Contract Data Analyst opportunity based in Auburn Hills, MI. The Confidential Client is seeking a results-driven analyst to help turn business questions into clear, data-driven insights. The role focuses on data collection, transformation, reporting, and stakeholder communication.

What You’ll Do

• Support business stakeholders by translating questions into data requirements and analytical approaches.
• Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to prepare datasets for analysis.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators.
• Write and optimize queries to pull reliable data for recurring and ad-hoc analyses.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and present actionable recommendations to cross-functional teams.
• Document datasets, logic, and report specs to ensure reproducibility and clarity.
• Work with data governance and engineering teams to improve data quality and pipeline reliability.
• Communicate findings clearly — both visually (dashboards/charts) and verbally — to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar role (or equivalent analytical experience).
• Proven ability to work with relational data (writing and optimizing SQL queries).
• Strong Excel skills for analysis and validation.
• Experience building reports or dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
• Solid analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Clear verbal and written communication; comfortable presenting insights to stakeholders.
• Ability to work on-site in Auburn Hills, MI as required for this contract role.

• Experience with Python or R for data manipulation/analysis.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Prior experience in Information Technology & Services or related industries.
