Data Analyst - Accounting
The Data Analyst - Accounting at Confidential Client is responsible for managing the transfer and maintenance of financial data between custodial integrators and the Trust Accounting System. This role involves troubleshooting, posting transactions, maintaining data aggregators, and collaborating with accounting staff to ensure accurate and efficient trust accounting processes while supporting fiduciary responsibilities and risk management.

What You’ll Do
- Maintain the data aggregator: add/delete accounts and manage daily data feeds used for trust accounting.
- Prepare and transform daily transaction files for import into Accutech Cheetah (handling high-volume month-end loads and daily batches).
- Configure and maintain Cheetah transaction types and broker composite mappings for accurate imports and custody setup.
- Inload daily transaction files and review import results; research and resolve import errors and manual adjustments (including corporate actions).
- Maintain historical transaction data and transaction-type definitions to support accurate posting and reporting.
- Support and help improve the trust accounting reconciliation process in coordination with the Senior Data Analyst.
- Collaborate with Staff Accountants and operations colleagues to provide consistent feedback on data quality and import processes.
- Complete special data analysis, reporting, and accounting projects as assigned to improve accuracy and efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management Information Systems, Data/Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (strong mastery of formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data manipulation).
- Intermediate proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior experience or familiarity with accounting and finance fundamentals and financial statements.
- Experience working with trust accounting or other specialized accounting software is preferred.
- Experience with data analytics tools or software packages (ETL/data prep, reporting) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns, reconcile discrepancies, and find data errors.
- Excellent problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and clients while protecting confidentiality.
- Comfortable working independently with large data sets and able to learn new technologies quickly.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Prior hands-on experience with Accutech Cheetah or similar transaction-import tools.
- Familiarity with data aggregator workflows and common broker transaction patterns.
- Experience handling corporate actions, custody setup, or trust-related transaction types.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
