What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is building the next generation of its data and analytics platform and is seeking an AI-native Data / AI Engineer (Stage) to design, build, and operate scalable data solutions in a Microsoft-centric cloud environment. You will help implement Medallion Architecture, create repeatable data pipelines, and enable analytics and AI use cases across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze → Silver → Gold): land raw data, validate/transform/enrich, and publish trusted data products for analytics and AI.
  • Build and operate automated, observable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure (including Azure Data Factory).
  • Ingest data from APIs and enterprise systems into lakehouses and Azure SQL–based stores; design models to support reuse and ML/feature engineering.
  • Develop data transformations and pipeline logic using SQL/T‑SQL, Python, PySpark/Spark.
  • Work with Databricks (Azure Databricks preferred) when required for advanced processing.
  • Use Git/GitHub (including GitHub Actions) for source control, code review, and CI/CD deployments.
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot) and support or develop agentic workloads (Copilot Agents, orchestration assistants, PR review bots) or actively learn agent patterns.
  • Contribute to data governance: cataloging, lineage, security, and semantic modeling for downstream analytics (Power BI).
  • Automate deployment and operational workflows with PowerShell or other scripting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (analytics, ML, product, and ops) to deliver production-ready data products.

Who You Are / Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • ~2–4 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software development.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on Python experience for data transformation.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric (lakehouse, pipelines) and Azure Data Factory.
  • Familiarity with Azure services (Azure SQL, Storage, APIs) and Databricks.
  • Working knowledge of Git and basic CI/CD workflows (branching, PRs, automated checks/deployments).
  • Interest or experience building AI agentic workloads and using AI-assisted development tools.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with Power BI semantic models or tabular modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.
  • Experience implementing observability and monitoring for data pipelines.
  • Prior exposure to enterprise data governance (cataloging, lineage, security).
  • Comfortable using GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD automation.
  • Experience with PowerShell for automation of deployment and operations.

Physical, Travel & Other Requirements

  • Must be able to lift at least 15 lbs; occasional moving, bending, or climbing may be required to position or maintain equipment.
  • Ability to travel locally and work occasional overtime or weekends when business needs require.
  • Minimum levels of auto insurance coverage are required for certain role duties.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, except for qualified bilingual candidates in Japanese/English or Chinese/English where noted by the client.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation is determined by multiple factors including responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and geography. Early-career roles may have standardized, market-based starting salaries within the hiring group.
  • Typical benefits (subject to client eligibility): health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance; Flexible Time Off; 401(k) plan; flexible benefits plans; business travel reimbursement; and discretionary bonus programs. Other client-specific benefits (e.g., pension plan for eligible staff, contingent-staff insurance options) may apply.

Why Join

  • Work on modern data platforms and AI-first projects using Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Databricks.
  • Join a collaborative environment that emphasizes professional growth, learning, and a supportive culture.
  • Opportunity to design and deliver data products that enable analytics and ML at scale.
