Cybersecurity Specialist
The Cybersecurity Specialist at Confidential Client is responsible for monitoring and analyzing security alerts, coordinating incident investigations, and enhancing detection capabilities within a 24/7 SOC environment. This role requires strong incident response skills, effective communication with diverse stakeholders, and a proactive approach to staying ahead of evolving cyber threats to protect customers from wide-scale disruptions.

What You’ll Do
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events from various security tools and systems (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, log sources).
- Triage, investigate, and document security incidents; construct timelines and correlate raw events to determine scope and impact.
- Coordinate with users and administrators across multiple channels during incident investigations and response.
- Provide actionable feedback to improve detection logic and reduce false positives.
- Escalate incidents based on established procedures and classify/prioritize according to severity.
- Maintain accurate, professional documentation in the ticketing system.
- Keep up-to-date with threat intelligence, industry best practices, and share findings with the team.
- Participate and contribute in regular team meetings and shift handovers.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to work rotating schedules in a 24/7 SOC environment (Sun–Wed or Wed–Sat shifts; sample shifts: 7:00–17:30 ET, 11:00–21:30 ET, 21:00–7:30 ET).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must obtain and maintain at least one of: Security+ (Sec+) or CySA+ within one year (other intermediate certs considered).
- Prior internship or class project exposure to SOC environments preferred.
- Entry-level experience with incident investigations and response.
Universal Requirements
- Comfortable working in an operational, shift-based environment (evenings/weekends may be required).
- Familiarity with security industry best practices, risk mitigation, and compliance frameworks.
- Able to perform under high-stakes, high-pressure conditions.
- Legally authorized to work in the regions designated by the client; role is remote with applicant location requirements in the USA.
- Self-driven, passionate about cybersecurity, and committed to continuous learning and certification maintenance.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills; able to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Resourceful—able to research answers using documentation and online resources quickly.
Compensation & Benefits
- Employment type: Contract and Full-time (per posting).
- Salary: USD 65,000 per year.

Work Schedule & Location
- Fully remote role (Confidential Client — IT); schedules are shift-based to support a 24/7 SOC. Exact shifts will be assigned based on client needs after training.
- Current FLSA designation: Non-exempt (hourly, overtime eligible).
