What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring early-career Cybersecurity Engineering Associates for a two-year rotational program focused on hands-on cybersecurity and software engineering experience. You will rotate through three ~8-month assignments across cybersecurity domains and participate in a structured early-career development program.

  • Work on real cybersecurity problems that protect customers, systems, applications, and data.
  • Rotate across teams such as Cloud Security, Secure Development, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Threat Detection/Fusion, Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing, Data Loss Prevention, or Third-Party Risk.
  • Contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise security solutions and automation.
  • Build software and automation to improve security operations and integrate security into SDLC/CI-CD pipelines.
  • Analyze security telemetry and incident data to recommend remediation and improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, security partners, and business stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Participate in formal training, mentorship, and cohort-based career development during the CODE (Career Opportunities in Development and Engineering) program.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ months of technology engineering or solutions experience (may be demonstrated via work, training, military service, internships, coursework, or projects).
  • Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and software development.
  • Ability to work from the posted office location in Charlotte, NC and comply with a hybrid in-office schedule.
  • Able to begin full-time employment no later than October 26, 2026.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without company-sponsored visa support (this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship).
  • Professional communication skills and ability to work in team environments.
  • Willingness to participate in a two-year rotational program and development activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Information security knowledge or practical experience in one or more areas: security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, penetration testing, digital forensics, or business continuity.
  • Experience writing or maintaining code and automation using Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, .NET, Go, SQL, or similar languages.
  • Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD, source control (Git), secure coding practices, and SDLC methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, directory services, privileged access management, APIs, and identity concepts.
  • Able to analyze technical/business information, identify risk, and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field preferred but not required.

Program & Job Expectations

  • This is a full-time, two-year rotational role with structured training and mentorship through the CODE program.
  • Candidates must be able to start full-time by October 26, 2026.
  • Position requires work from the posted office location (Charlotte, NC) with a hybrid schedule; regular in-office attendance as defined by team/program is required.
