What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry‑Level Cybersecurity Analyst to join their IT security team. You will help monitor security events, investigate potential incidents, support remediation, and assist with maintaining security controls and documentation. This role is a hands-on opportunity to build practical skills in SIEM, incident response, vulnerability management, and defensive operations.

• Monitor security alerts, logs, and events using SIEM and security monitoring tools.
• Triage and investigate potential security incidents; document findings and escalations.
• Perform basic vulnerability scans and support remediation tracking.
• Analyze network traffic and system logs for anomalous or suspicious activity.
• Support endpoint security configuration, access control reviews, and password policy enforcement.
• Assist incident response and forensic activities under senior guidance.
• Maintain security documentation, runbooks, and incident records.
• Participate in patch and vulnerability management activities.
• Collaborate with IT, network, cloud, and application teams to remediate security issues.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive best practices.

Who You Are (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and network security principles.
• Basic networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and firewalls.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Awareness of common threats and attack techniques (malware, phishing, etc.).
• Introductory knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint security tooling, vulnerability scanning, and incident response workflows.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written communication, and documentation skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively on cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Wireshark, Nessus, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts (AWS or Azure).
• Understanding of security frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001).
• Basic scripting ability (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to support automation and investigations.
• Cybersecurity certifications (CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent) are a plus.

• Estimated pay: $103,603 per year (estimated).
