What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Cyber Threat Analyst to operationalize threat intelligence and support threat‑informed defense activities. This role triages intelligence, enriches indicators, maps adversary behavior to frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, and supports detection engineering, threat hunting, SOC investigations, and adversary emulation (purple team) exercises.

  • Collect, analyze, and triage tactical and operational cyber threat intelligence from internal, open‑source, government, industry, and commercial sources.
  • Operate and continuously improve the Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) to ensure intelligence is actionable across cybersecurity, fraud, and risk teams.
  • Enrich and contextualize indicators of compromise (IOCs) for use in detection and response workflows.
  • Monitor emerging threats, vulnerabilities, malware families, and threat actor activity relevant to the client and the financial services sector.
  • Map operational intelligence to MITRE ATT&CK tactics and techniques to inform detection engineering, threat hunting, purple team exercises, and control assessments.
  • Produce finished intelligence for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Support adversary emulation and purple team campaigns by researching threat actors, techniques, and intelligence requirements to build realistic test scenarios.
  • Support SOC investigations by identifying relevant indicators and adversary behaviors.
  • Provide threat analysis for Third‑Party Risk Management (TPRM) and the Fraud Operations team (e.g., account takeover, phishing, BEC, synthetic identity, payment fraud).
  • Monitor and respond to online impersonation, counterfeiting, infringement, and other malicious activities that could harm the organization.
  • Contribute to tabletop exercises (TTX) through scenario research, participant coordination, and after‑action documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (4‑year) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field — OR 2 years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 0+ years professional experience; candidates with ~2 years in cyber threat intelligence, offensive security, threat hunting, detection engineering, or related fields are preferred.
  • Familiarity with threat intelligence sources (open‑source, commercial, government) and basic IOC enrichment.
  • Basic understanding of malware analysis, attack techniques, and defensive controls.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear intelligence products for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Security+ or other foundational cybersecurity certification preferred.
  • Experience with Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIPs) and/or SIEMs.
  • Exposure to scripting (Python) for enrichment, automation, or analysis.
  • Experience mapping detections to MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Background in threat hunting, adversary emulation, or purple team exercises.
  • Military cybersecurity experience or equivalent operational background is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Typical hiring range: $69,600 to $108,300 annually. Actual compensation will be determined by experience, skills, and knowledge in accordance with applicable law.
  • Benefits include health, vision, dental, 401(k) with employer match, annual performance bonus, paid parental leave, employee discount programs, paid personal/sick days, 11 paid holidays, education reimbursement.
  • Hybrid work: work from home up to 3 days per week (role labeled remote‑eligible).
