Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an early-career Cyber Intelligence Associate to join a Brand Protection team focused on detecting, investigating, and remediating online misuse of corporate brands. You will triage alerts, validate findings using approved tools and data sources, document evidence clearly, and coordinate remediation actions with internal and approved external partners. This role is high-tempo and service-level-driven; it’s a strong fit for detail-oriented analysts who want measurable impact from day one.

What You’ll Do

  • Triage and investigate incoming alerts for brand misuse, including phishing, impersonation, fraudulent domains, fake applications, deceptive ads, and content infringement
  • Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) validation using approved internal datasets and external research sources; collect and document evidence consistently
  • Apply established playbooks to assess severity, intent, and potential business impact; escalate to stakeholders (cybersecurity, risk, legal, communications) per defined criteria
  • Initiate and track remediation actions (takedowns, blocks, removals) using established workflows; maintain accurate case status through to closure
  • Produce clear incident summaries, case notes, and stakeholder updates that translate technical findings into business-risk language
  • Support operational improvements by updating documentation, performing quality checks, and tracking key metrics (time-to-triage, time-to-remediation, repeat offender patterns)
  • Stay current on evolving phishing and impersonation techniques and share learnings with the broader team

Minimum qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in cyber intelligence concepts and 2+ years of applied experience
  • Bachelor’s degree OR 1+ year of equivalent practical experience (including internships or co-ops) in cybersecurity, investigations, fraud, trust & safety, risk, or a related operational field
  • Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail; ability to separate signal from noise and follow evidence-based workflows
  • Strong written communication and documentation habits; able to clearly articulate evidence, rationale, and actions taken
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills across multiple teams; comfortable working within SLAs and structured processes
  • Exposure to domain/DNS intelligence, phishing infrastructure analysis, social media reporting, and takedown workflows

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with the intelligence cycle (collection, processing, analysis, dissemination, feedback)
  • Experience with case management or ticketing systems in an operational environment
  • Introductory experience with query/search tools (SQL, Splunk, or similar)
  • Basic scripting (Python) to support investigative or operational workflows

Compensation & employment details

  • Location: Wilmington, NC, US
