Role summary
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Cybersecurity Assessor to join their security and risk team. This is an on-site position in Nichols Hills, OK (Oklahoma City area). The role is a strong fit for recent graduates or early-career candidates with coursework or project experience in cybersecurity, information systems, or programming who want hands-on experience with security assessments, risk frameworks (e.g., NIST), and basic automation/scripting.
Estimated compensation: $100,776 per year (estimated).
What you’ll do
You will support senior cybersecurity professionals in evaluating and documenting security posture and compliance of information systems. Typical duties include:
- Assist with continuous monitoring and security assessments for systems and applications.
- Review policies, procedures, system documentation, artifacts, and other evidence to assess compliance with federal and organizational requirements.
- Help communicate identified weaknesses and proposed remediation steps under guidance of senior staff.
- Maintain clear, defensible, and well-organized assessment documentation.
- Request, review, track, and validate large volumes of assessment evidence in a systematic manner.
- Perform basic technical and scripting tasks (under supervision) to automate evidence collection, reporting, and tracking.
Required qualifications
- Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and relevant programming coursework — or a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of information system architecture, networking concepts, system documentation, or software development (coursework or projects acceptable).
- Foundational knowledge of at least one security or risk management framework (examples: NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-37, ISO standards, or equivalent RMF frameworks).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred qualifications
- Hands-on exposure to GRC tools, cybersecurity assessment platforms, or information-system tracking tools through labs, internships, or academic projects.
- Experience or exposure to system lifecycle processes (RMF or similar).
- Working understanding of vulnerability scanning approaches, security controls, and common security frameworks.
- Experience supporting configuration management, change control, or team software projects (capstone or class projects).
Location & work type
This position requires on-site work in Nichols Hills, OK (Oklahoma City area). Local candidates or those able to relocate to the area are preferred.
