What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Cyber Analyst to join its Government & Public Services practice. In this role you will work on client engagements to identify, assess, and reduce cyber risk while building hands-on consulting and technical skills.

  • Analyze systems, networks, and logs to identify vulnerabilities, suspicious activity, and threats
  • Support threat detection and security monitoring activities
  • Assist with incident response preparation and execution, including containment and remediation support
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and help prioritize remediation recommendations
  • Help design and implement security controls and compliance-related measures
  • Prepare clear, client-facing deliverables and technical summaries
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate security findings into actionable recommendations
  • Contribute to workstreams and, over time, lead small projects or workstreams

Qualifications (Required)

To be considered for this role you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Currently enrolled and expected to graduate by Summer 2027, or already have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Security, Mathematics, Risk Management, or a closely related field
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Reside within a commutable distance (for example, within a 100-mile radius) of the assigned office with ability to commute daily if required
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average based on client and project needs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • Internship, project, or coursework experience in cybersecurity, security operations, incident response, vulnerability assessment, or related areas
  • Familiarity with common security tools, basic scripting, or data analysis concepts is a plus

You will join Confidential Client’s Government & Public Services practice serving government agencies, higher education, nonprofits, and other public-sector organizations. Teams combine strategy, operations, and technology expertise to improve mission outcomes and organizational performance. This role offers exposure to diverse client environments and a structured pathway to build a consulting career in cybersecurity.


Location & Travel

  • Primary location: Rosslyn, VA (role requires being within a commutable distance of the assigned office)
  • Travel: up to 50% on average depending on client needs
  • Note: This role is not a sponsorship-eligible position and requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary (estimated range): $88,000 — $91,000 per year. The range reflects factors such as skills, experience, certifications, and local geographic differentials.
  • Confidential Client offers a comprehensive benefits package (health, retirement, paid time off, and other standard benefits). Specific benefits vary by location and are provided at offer.
