What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Cyber Analyst to support Government & Public Services engagements near Redstone Arsenal (Huntsville), AL. This role is focused on strengthening clients’ cybersecurity posture through hands-on analysis, threat detection, incident response support, and vulnerability assessment. You will work on client teams, learn consulting best practices, and help deliver measurable security improvements.
Responsibilities
- Monitor systems and networks to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats.
- Support threat detection and triage of security events.
- Assist with incident response activities and root-cause analysis.
- Perform vulnerability scans and contribute to remediation recommendations.
- Help document security controls, findings, and technical recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security improvements.
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to project deliverables, including briefings, reports, and client presentations.
Qualifications (Required)
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with expected graduation by Summer 2027 or already completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Security, Mathematics, Risk Management, or equivalent.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must reside within a commutable distance (for example, a 100-mile radius) of the assigned office and be able to commute daily if required.
- Ability to travel ~50% on average based on client needs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a quality-oriented work approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher cumulative GPA (3.4+).
- Internship, project, or coursework experience in cybersecurity, incident response, vulnerability assessment, or related areas.
- Familiarity with basic security tools and concepts (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, scanning tools, networking fundamentals).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Team & Environment
You will join client teams serving government agencies, higher education, nonprofit organizations, and other public-sector clients. Work will blend strategy, operations, and technical execution. This is an entry-level consulting opportunity designed for candidates who want to build technical capabilities while learning to deliver client-facing outcomes in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Compensation & Logistics
- Disclosed estimate: $88,000 to $91,000 per year (reasonable estimate; actual offer depends on experience, skills, and location-specific factors).
