What You’ll Do
As a Cyber Analyst placed by Careertakes for our Confidential Client, you will join a client-facing team delivering cybersecurity services across public-sector and IT environments. Responsibilities include:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate cyber threats by analyzing systems, applications, and networks for vulnerabilities
- Design and recommend security controls and configurations to strengthen security posture
- Support threat detection activities and monitor security telemetry
- Assist with incident response, containment, root-cause analysis, and remediation guidance
- Help ensure compliance with applicable security standards and assist with risk-management activities
- Produce clear, actionable findings and recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with client teams to implement improvements and operationalize security controls
- Contribute to project workstreams; manage tasks, priorities, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications (Required)
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Currently enrolled and expected to graduate by Summer 2027, or hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Security, Mathematics, Risk Management, or equivalent
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must reside within a commutable distance (for example, ~100-mile radius) of the assigned office with ability to commute daily if required
- Ability to travel up to 50% on average based on client needs
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at time of employment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher
- Internship, project, or coursework experience in computer science, cybersecurity, data analytics, information security, or related fields
- Exposure to incident response, threat detection, vulnerability assessment, or security architecture

Teams combine strategy, operations, and technology expertise to improve mission outcomes and organizational performance. As a Cyber Analyst, you’ll build consulting and technical skills while working on varied engagements in collaborative, growth-focused teams.
Location & Travel
- Primary work location: Huntsville, AL (onsite/commutable)
- Travel: up to 50% based on client engagements
- Relocation or remote work is not indicated for this posting — candidates must meet the commute requirement and local hiring rules
Compensation
- Reasonable estimated range: $88,000 to $91,000 per year. This range considers factors such as skills, experience, certifications, and local geographic differentials. Actual offer will depend on candidate qualifications and organizational needs.
