Position summary

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Cyber Analyst to join their IT team in Lafayette, LA. This is an early-career role focused on supporting cybersecurity analysis, documentation, testing, risk tracking, and solution assessment across client projects. You will gain hands-on exposure to security practices, modern tools, and AI-enabled workflows while helping deliver secure, reliable technology solutions.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop an understanding of client industry, technology landscape, and cybersecurity objectives
  • Build trusted relationships through active listening and clear communication
  • Gather, validate, and document business, functional, and technical requirements with cross‑functional teams
  • Analyze systems, applications, processes, and data to identify vulnerabilities, gaps, or operational issues
  • Support functional and integrated testing to ensure security and business requirements are met
  • Track and report operational risks, issues, and dependencies throughout project lifecycles
  • Create and maintain project documentation — analysis summaries, reports, user docs, meeting notes, user stories, test scripts, workflows, and other Agile artifacts
  • Work with technical stakeholders and end users to ensure security considerations are documented and integrated into solutions
  • Assist with evaluating, deploying, integrating, and maintaining software, cybersecurity tools, and IT services across lab and production environments
  • Communicate findings clearly, translating technical concepts for cross‑functional audiences
  • Use modern and AI‑enabled workplace tools to organize information, surface trends, and support analysis tasks while applying responsible AI practices (accuracy, privacy, security, transparency, and human oversight)
  • Support broader project activities such as usability reviews, training materials, and other deliverables

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field with exposure to cybersecurity concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; comfortable navigating ambiguity and complex information
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify technical ideas for non‑technical audiences
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams
  • Curiosity, professionalism, and a strong desire for continuous learning
  • Preferred: exposure to cybersecurity concepts, security best practices, AI‑enabled tools, or general technology topics via coursework, internships, research, competitions, or personal projects

Eligibility & Clearances

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD / Public Trust clearance are required for this role.

Compensation & Application period

  • Estimated salary range: $52,200 - $95,700 (Confidential Client provides this estimate to comply with applicable disclosure requirements)
  • Fall Application Period: Monday, August 24, 2026 - Friday, October 2, 2026
