The Opportunity
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Customs & International Trade Associate (Summer/Fall 2027 cohort) to join their Tax practice. In this role you will learn to navigate customs regulations, support international trade and indirect tax engagements, and help clients optimize cross-border operations while staying compliant. This position is client-facing and focused on skill development, research, and contributing to project delivery with guidance from experienced team members.
What You’ll Do
- Support client engagements by contributing to tax strategy development and compliance efforts
- Research and interpret customs regulations, tariffs, valuation rules and related guidance
- Assist with customs brokerage documentation and government clearance filings
- Analyze data to derive insights and support recommendations for international trade operations
- Collaborate with team members to improve tax technology solutions and reporting accuracy
- Participate in project tasks related to indirect tax compliance and controversy resolution
- Help design and implement effective international tax structures under supervision
- Communicate clearly with clients and colleagues; practice active listening to understand client needs
- Uphold professional and technical standards and maintain accurate project documentation
Who You Are (Minimum Qualifications)
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, International Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- At least a 3.0 overall GPA
- Final-year students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply (entry-level / client service associate profile)
- Comfortable working in a team and learning in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Preferred GPA: 3.5 or higher
- Familiarity or interest in customs brokerage, tariff classification, and valuation
- Exposure to tax technology, data analysis tools, or automation (including experience or interest in leveraging AI for efficiencies)
- Strong intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working on client-facing projects or in professional services is a plus
Travel & Work Arrangement
- Travel: Up to 20%
- Work arrangement: Full-time (entry-level role; may include internship/cohort elements based on client program structure)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $53,500 - $142,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and in accordance with applicable employment laws.
- Eligible employees may receive an annual discretionary bonus.
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, retirement savings (401k), paid holidays, vacation, and family/medical leave. Specific benefit details will be provided by the Confidential Client.
