Overview

Confidential Client is recruiting an entry-level Customer Reliability Engineer or Technical Specialist to support on-site customer reliability programs in the energy and process industries. The role focuses on evaluating mechanical seals and rotating equipment, supporting installations and commissioning, collecting and analyzing field data, and helping customers improve uptime and reliability.


What You’ll Do

  • Review customer applications and proactively recommend improvements to mean time between repairs (MTBR) with oversight from account managers and regional engineers.
  • Analyze customer systems and submit recommendations using the client’s application data tools.
  • Direct installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and auxiliary support systems at customer facilities.
  • Observe, collect, and evaluate field data and report results using reliability management software (examples: ServiceMax or equivalent).
  • Maintain equipment surveys and documentation; communicate recommendations clearly to customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver technical presentations and training for maintenance and operations personnel as required.
  • Assist customers with Management of Change activities and collect new equipment data sheets for engineering review.
  • Lead or mentor customer reliability personnel on-site when assigned.
  • Travel as required to support on-site assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred for the Customer Reliability Engineer title.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required for the Technical Specialist title.
  • Hands-on experience or coursework with mechanical seals, rotating equipment, and basic engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with labor reporting, work order variances and ERP/MRP systems (QAD, MFG-PRO, SAP, or equivalent).
  • Experience with continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, SMED, Lean) is a plus.
  • Strong PC skills, proficiency in MS Office, and familiarity with machining practices.
  • Understanding of manufacturing financial aspects and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong training, leadership, facilitation, influencing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and verbal business communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends when required.
  • Experience working in diverse, global teams is advantageous.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $87,238 per year (estimated).
  • Job grade and final compensation will be determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.
