The Customer Engagement Manager is responsible for managing and growing an established book of business within the greater Indianapolis area by building strong customer relationships and promoting Confidential Client's fleet and leasing services. This field-based role requires regular local travel to engage customers, identify upsell opportunities, and ensure high customer satisfaction through proactive communication and service delivery.

Overview (confidential client — Customer Engagement Manager)
This field-based Customer Engagement Manager role supports an established book of local business in the greater Uptown, IN metro area (with outreach into Kokomo, Lafayette, and Terre Haute). You will meet customers in-person, build relationships, and present service solutions (leasing, maintenance programs, financing, and fleet services). This is an outside-sales, relationship-first role best suited to a coachable, people-oriented candidate who enjoys being in the market.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $55,000 per year
- Target total compensation: realistic first-year take-home approximately $60,000 (base + commission)
- Pay range: $55,000 — $80,000 per year (salary + commission opportunity)
- Mileage reimbursement and choice of cell-phone reimbursement or company-provided phone

Territory & Travel
- Primary market: Uptown, IN (greater metro area)
- Territory covers roughly a 60-mile radius; most activity stays local to Uptown
- Travel: local, daily (home every night); no overnight travel required
- Estimated customer meeting travel: ~20–30%
What You’ll Do (Essential Functions)
- Attain or exceed assigned sales quotas and profit targets
- Maintain regular in-person and virtual contact with customers to meet requirements
- Create a sales penetration plan to expand the client’s wallet share
- Segment accounts for growth opportunities, renewals, and retention risk
- Present service offerings and build relationships with all customer buying influencers
- Develop a clear understanding of customers’ operations, goals, and objectives
- Collaborate internally to develop upsell opportunities and ensure contracted services are delivered
- Serve as a facilitator between customers and internal departments or vendors
- Conduct regular customer reviews, monitor VOC results, and update CRM with account activity
- Proactively anticipate and resolve customer issues; communicate policy changes and best practices

- Perform other duties as assigned to support customer satisfaction and territory growth
Skills & Abilities
- Strong relationship-building and consultative sales skills
- Account management and negotiation abilities
- Comfortable learning contractual leasing and pricing (training provided)
- Coachable, self-motivated, and organized for field-based sales work
- Proficiency using CRM tools and maintaining up-to-date account records
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, transportation, or equivalent experience preferred
- 2+ years of experience providing service to customers — required
- 2+ years of experience selling to customers — required
- Prior account management or sales experience is a plus; entry-level candidates with strong coachability encouraged to apply
