What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Customer Data Traceability Engineer to help build and maintain end-to-end traceability for datasets used in AI and analytics. You will work across Customer Quality, Engineering, Product, and Operations to ensure data lineage, metadata, and dataset quality are documented and auditable.
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines that capture AI dataset lineage and processing history
- Document data sources, transformations, ownership, versions, and usage across AI workflows
- Support metadata catalogs, data dictionaries, and traceability dashboards
- Perform data validation and investigate missing, inconsistent, or incorrectly linked records
- Help develop scripts and tools to automate lineage capture, audit trails, and traceability checks
- Monitor dataset quality and work with engineering teams to resolve traceability issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define data and reporting requirements
- Adhere to data governance, security, privacy, and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
Required minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Foundational programming skills in Python, SQL, or a similar language (coursework, internships, or projects)
- Basic understanding of databases, data pipelines, data modeling, and AI/ML concepts
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and clear written/verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic, internship, or project experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), data catalogs, or ETL/ELT tools
- Exposure to data lineage tools, metadata management, responsible AI practices, or quality systems
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and scripting to automate data checks
