Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking a student-focused CTE Paraprofessional to support secondary-level Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs at a high school in Harper Woods, MI. This role helps deliver hands-on instruction and technical support across Communications, Broadcasting/Radio, Technology (networking), Business and Graphic Design programs.


What You’ll Do

The CTE Paraprofessional will assist instructors and students to create a safe, productive learning environment and support classroom operations:

  • Assist students with reading, comprehension and classroom assignments across all four CTE programs
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce safety rules and proper equipment use
  • Provide individual demonstrations and hands-on coaching for technical tasks
  • Help prepare and review materials with students prior to tests and assessments
  • Support instructors in preparing student progress reports and maintaining records
  • Assist with CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) activities to promote student growth
  • Perform basic technical tasks: system repairs, networking support, printing/design prep, and equipment setup
  • Apply technical writing, production and design knowledge to classroom projects
  • Serve as an additional supportive, understanding adult resource for students
  • Follow direction from school administration and participate in professional development
  • Use community resources to extend learning beyond the classroom

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum: Two years (or 4,000 hours) of related work experience in Communications, Broadcasting, Radio, Technology (networking), Business and/or Graphic Design — experience must be within six (6) years of application
  • Strong technical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills (systems, networking, printing)
  • Entry-level problem solving and technical writing/production skills
  • Student-focused mindset and ability to foster a positive learning environment
  • High school diploma required; relevant postsecondary coursework or certifications helpful

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Technology, or a related field is strongly recommended
  • Prior experience working in secondary education or CTE settings
  • Experience supporting CTSO programs and student competitions
  • Familiarity with classroom safety procedures and industry-standard tools/equipment

Compensation

  • Estimated base salary: $30,957 per year (estimated). Exact pay and benefits will be determined by the Confidential Client and may vary based on experience and qualifications.
