Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a student-focused CTE Construction Trades Paraprofessional to support high school Career & Technical Education (CTE) instruction in construction trades. This hands-on role assists the lead CTE teacher in classroom and shop-based instruction, enforces safety protocols, helps students with technical tasks, and supports day-to-day project and tool maintenance.
What You’ll Do
- Reinforce lessons in carpentry, blueprint reading, tool operation, and construction safety.
- Supervise students during shop and job-site activities and enforce strict safety procedures.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group assistance to help students follow project steps and understand technical tasks.
- Prepare and maintain work areas, organize materials, and care for tools and equipment.
- Track student participation, maintain orderly learning spaces, and communicate safety or attendance concerns to the lead teacher.
- Support instructional activities under the direction of a certified CTE teacher and help foster a positive student-learning environment.
Qualifications
- Sixty (60) credit hours or a bachelor’s degree (per the position requirement).
- Interest in construction trades and basic technical aptitude.
- Strong attention to safety, patience working with high school students, and basic problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with students and the lead instructor.
Compensation & Term
- Pay: $25.00 per hour (listed in source).
- Estimated annual figure (Adzuna estimate): $43,879 per year (for reference).
- Term: 10-month employment (academic-year position).
- Benefits: Option of ACA medical coverage (employee cost ~60% as listed).
Work Environment & Schedule
This is a full-time, school-year role supporting CTE classroom and shop activities. The role requires onsite presence in classroom/shop settings and close supervision of students during hands-on projects. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
