What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Credit Trainee role designed to build foundational skills in credit, collections, and customer relationship management. In this hands-on program you will:

  • Support daily credit operations and learn how trade credit is extended
  • Rotate through multiple site functions (warehouse, sales counter, delivery rides, operations) to gain business context
  • Shadow credit leaders and participate in customer meetings and presentations
  • Assist with account reviews, collections activities, and basic A/R tasks
  • Build relationships with customers and internal teams to support credit decisions
  • Learn to use internal systems and tools to document credit actions and conclusions

Program Details

This is an 8–12 month, structured training program combining mentoring, on-the-job learning, and progressive responsibility. You will be actively involved in the business from day one with continuous coaching from the credit leadership team.

  • Employment types: FULL_TIME and INTERNSHIP (program may start as either, per role posting)
  • Program length: ~8–12 months of initial training based in Brooklyn, NY
  • Upon successful completion, trainees will be prepared to manage an entry-level credit portfolio
  • Bonus / incentive plan eligible

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of work experience post-bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable speaking by phone and presenting to groups
  • Demonstrated customer-service mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High emotional intelligence and proven ability to build relationships with customers and coworkers
  • Coachable, team-oriented, and eager to learn
  • Willingness to relocate after the training period (relocation support provided at that time)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $28.85 - $43.26 per hour (Brooklyn, NY) — this role is located in New York and the pay range is provided in accordance with local pay transparency guidance
  • This role is Bonus / Incentive Plan eligible

  • Starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements

Career Path

Completing the Credit Trainee program prepares you to become a functioning Credit Manager responsible for a portfolio of accounts and the extension and collection of A/R. From there, high-performing Credit Managers may advance to Area Credit Manager roles with broader A/R responsibility and potential people management.


Location & Relocation

  • Initial training location: Brooklyn, NY for the first 8–12 months
  • Candidates must be open to relocation after training; a relocation allowance will be provided. Regional preferences can be discussed.
