What You'll Do
This entry-level Credit Analyst role is part of a Commercial Banking Development Program. You will perform hands-on credit analysis while participating in a structured training curriculum designed to prepare you for a long-term career in commercial banking. Work closely with relationship managers, lending leadership, and credit officers to support underwriting and portfolio monitoring.
- Analyze financial statements, historical performance, and projected cash flows to assess borrower creditworthiness.
- Prepare written credit analyses that include borrower and guarantor investigations, market and economic context, and collateral assessment.
- Perform in-depth analysis of secondary repayment sources (collateral) and guarantor positions.
- Monitor covenant compliance and perform periodic covenant testing and renewal risk grading.
- Support loan committee materials and respond to committee inquiries.
- Coordinate third-party appraisal orders and evaluate appraisal data for collateral adequacy.
- Participate in customer meetings and periodic travel for client visits or training as required.
- Maintain awareness of industry and economic trends using borrower conversations, market publications, peer references, and external data sources.
- Complete other duties as assigned in support of lending and portfolio management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial statement spreading and interpretation across varying accounting quality.
- Writing clear, well-structured credit memoranda and risk assessments.
- Quantitative analysis of cash flows, liquidity, leverage, and covenant metrics.
- Collateral analysis and coordination with third-party vendors.
- Annual risk grading and renewal analysis for assigned credits.
- Presenting findings to loan committees and collaborating with originators to structure credit proposals.
Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field required; strong preference for Finance or Accounting concentration.
- Prior exposure to financial or credit analysis is preferred (internships, part-time work, campus organizations, or coursework).
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and accountable.
- Able to attend initial training in Dallas, TX (~4 weeks) and travel for subsequent training sessions and client meetings as required.
Location & Travel
- Primary work location: Westover Hills, TX (local/office-based).
- Initial training will be held in Dallas, TX for approximately four weeks; additional travel for training or customer meetings may occur.
Compensation
- Estimated salary: $70,971 per year (estimated).
