What You’ll Do
Confidential Client’s Mortgage Banking team is seeking an entry-level, detail-oriented Credit Analyst to support underwriting and credit reviews for warehouse lines of credit extended to independent mortgage banks and non-depository lenders. This role is a strong fit for candidates eager to learn credit analysis, underwriting, and loan monitoring within mortgage banking.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and business performance data for warehouse borrowers.
- Assist in underwriting new warehouse credit facilities and completing annual borrower reviews, including spreading financials and preparing credit memorandums.
- Monitor collateral positions by reviewing daily loan-level reports, aging schedules, and funding activity to identify concentration risk or covenant issues.
- Conduct quarterly loan reviews assessing financial performance, portfolio quality, and compliance with credit agreement covenants; promptly escalate exceptions to senior credit officers.
- Collaborate with relationship managers and operations teams to support onboarding and amendments for new facilities.
- Drive project work and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years experience in financial services, banking, lending, or a credit-related role (internship or entry-level acceptable).
- Basic understanding of credit analysis concepts, financial statements, and loan documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a desire to grow within the mortgage banking industry.
Nice-to-haves:
- Exposure to loan documentation, credit file management, or document tracking.
- Familiarity with loan administration workflows and mortgage banking operations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Target pay range: $20.00 per hour – $27.00 per hour. Actual starting pay will vary based on geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
