Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in credit underwriting training to learn the bank’s credit culture and risk-management approach.
  • Prepare and spread business financial statements and cash flows; analyze personal financial statements and guarantor cash flows.
  • Assist with small loan approvals, annual reviews, credit analysis for new requests, and short-term extensions or modifications.
  • Conduct third-party research (industry reports, credit bureau checks, real estate market assessments).
  • Support Credit Administration with data research, entry, and special projects.
  • Shadow and train with peers and management to develop commercial credit skills and judgment within established underwriting guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferred concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • 0–3 years of experience in banking, finance, or accounting (entry-level applicants encouraged).
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with standard computer tools (MS Excel, Word); willingness to learn financial tools used by underwriting teams.
  • Detail-oriented, able to follow established policies and procedures.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $53,800 – $76,800 annually (actual base pay offered may vary based on experience, location, and other factors).
  • This role is incentive-eligible based on company and individual performance.
  • Benefits may include: medical, dental, vision, flexible/HSA accounts, 401(k), disability, basic life insurance, tuition/loan repayment programs, employee assistance program, paid time off and holidays, and voluntary supplemental plans.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily performed in a standard office environment; moderate noise levels.
  • Typical office tasks include prolonged sitting and occasional light lifting (5–10 lbs).
  • Employees may be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role & Employer

This is an entry-level Credit Analyst I position supporting Confidential Client’s commercial credit underwriting teams (CRE and C&I). The role is designed to provide structured training and hands-on experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, financial spreading, and industry research while providing administrative support as needed. Strong candidates will build toward independent judgment within the organization’s underwriting guidelines and credit policy.
