What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is hiring a Counselor I to provide direct clinical support to patients recovering from substance use and other behavioral health conditions. This role combines individual and group counseling, assessment, case management, and coordination with referral sources to support a patient’s continuum of care.
- Participate in treatment planning and ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct and co-facilitate group and family therapy sessions under supervision.
- Perform initial and follow-up clinical assessments and prepare individualized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and aftercare planning as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care, incidents, and treatment progress.
- Act as a liaison between patients, referral sources, insurance carriers, and community resources.
- Provide patient and family education on substance use disorders and related psychiatric issues.
- Conduct educational workshops within the facility and in the community.
- Provide case management to coordinate referrals and ensure individualized quality care.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related health services field preferred.
- Experience via counseling internships, practicum, or supervised field instruction is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse patient populations.
- Able to document clinical notes clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an individual contributor within a multidisciplinary team.
- Comfortable facilitating groups and working under clinical supervision.
Licenses, Certifications & Training
- State licensure or certification for counseling as required by the state; OR ability to become licensed/certified within the timeframe designated by the facility.
- CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility policies.
Employment Type & Compensation
- Employment Type: Contract / Full time
- Estimated Compensation: $45,849 per year (estimated). Exact pay may vary based on experience, credentials, and location.
