What You’ll Do

This entry-level Cost Accountant role supports plant financial operations for a confidential client in the packaged foods manufacturing industry. You'll work closely with the Plant Controller and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate costs, support month-end close, and help improve costing processes.

• Accounts Payable & Receiving support
• Operational tracking and performance reporting
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Develop and maintain standard costs and assist with cost roll‑forwards
• Support quarterly forecasting and bi‑annual budgeting processes
• AG & Grower accounting responsibilities as applicable to sourcing operations
• Assist Plant Controller on costing and analysis projects, raw product scale support, payroll coordination, and onboarding seasonal staff

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred (not required)
• Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental financial accounting procedures
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
• Organized, self‑motivated, team‑oriented, and adaptable to change
• Comfortable building partnerships and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting wage range (based on skills, abilities and experience): $65,000 – $72,000 per year
• Benefits (typical for this client): Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, 401(k), Short‑ & Long‑Term Disability, Paid Time Off, and other standard employee benefits
