The Coordinator of Supplier Diversity supports the implementation of supplier diversity initiatives on construction projects by assisting with small business inclusion, workforce development, and community engagement strategies. Position summary
Confidential Client is seeking a Coordinator of Supplier Diversity to support project-level supplier diversity, small business inclusion, workforce development, community engagement, and compliance reporting on assigned construction projects in Pico Heights, CA. This is an entry-level, full-time role that works closely with project leadership, procurement, estimating, and field teams to execute outreach and inclusion strategies and to track and report participation and compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Support early project engagement with community partners, small business liaisons, workforce development organizations, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate outreach activities, meeting preparation, follow-up communications, and documentation of market intelligence.
- Assist with proposal and RFP reviews to identify small business participation, workforce development, and community involvement requirements.
- Prepare outreach materials, success stories, participation summaries, and event support materials for pursuits and relationship-building.
- Maintain and evaluate small business trade partner information including certifications, bonding, safety, capacity, and project experience.
- Help estimate and procurement teams by recommending qualified small businesses, tracking participation, and supporting bid-room documentation.
- Support pre-award and post-award events, interviews, scope reviews, purchasing meetings, and communication of project expectations.
- Track and report compliance for small business participation, workforce development status, outreach activity, training participation, and other supplier diversity documentation.
- Coordinate workforce development activities with partners, apprenticeship programs, and candidates to meet project commitments.
- Assist with supplier diversity trainings and programs such as technical assistance and emerging trade partner initiatives.
- Support Confidential Client participation in industry and community organizations by coordinating logistics, tracking contacts, and following up with partners.
Who We’re Looking For
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, marketing, public administration, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience in supplier diversity, procurement, small business development, workforce development, community engagement, or related fields.
- Working knowledge of construction project delivery and subcontracting requirements, including small business participation plans and compliance reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, agency representatives, community leaders, small business support organizations, and trade partners.
- Willingness to travel across assigned regions and to participate in occasional evening, weekend, or industry events.
Preferred
- Experience with tracking and reporting tools, outreach coordination, and supplier diversity program support.
- Demonstrated ability to support cross-functional teams and influence project-level stakeholders.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range (Southern California): $60,990 - $67,410 per year.
- Anticipated Cost of Living Adjustment for Southern California: $19,200 (COLA).
- Total compensation range (Salary + COLA): $80,190 - $86,610 per year.
