What You’ll Do
Confidential client is hiring a Control Systems Engineer to support design, programming, testing, and commissioning of industrial automation systems. This role is hands-on and collaborative — ideal for candidates with electrical-control design experience or strong technical training who want to grow in controls engineering.
- Assist with electrical control panel designs, schematics, 3D panel layouts, and bills of materials while following NEC and UL guidelines.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics and panel layouts using EPLAN Pro Panel (or similar tools).
- Design and optimize custom control panels for performance, safety, and manufacturability.
- Develop, test, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI/SCADA applications with guidance from senior engineers.
- Support hardware selection, shop testing, startup, and field commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with production, project management, and customer support to deliver high-quality, on-schedule work.
- Build technical skills through mentorship, hands-on projects, and exposure to multiple automation applications.
What You’ll Bring
We welcome applicants ranging from entry-level technicians to experienced electrical designers. Typical qualifications:
- Associate degree, technical diploma, vocational training, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience in Electrical Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, Controls, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree beneficial but not required).
- 2+ years of experience in electrical design for custom automation is preferred; entry-level candidates with relevant training, internships, apprenticeships, or military experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience or exposure to EPLAN Electric P8 / Pro Panel is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles, control panel design, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, motor controls, and structured programming.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, specifications, and equipment manuals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with PLC platforms or HMI software through coursework or practical experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow established standards, and willingness to learn under supervision.
