Position Overview

Confidential Client seeks entry-level Control Engineers to join a small, hands-on engineering team based in Vets Row, IL. This role supports data collection efforts, assists with new technology development initiatives, and provides cross-functional support across facilities, field teams, and engineering groups. Multiple openings and shift options are available.

What You’ll Do

• Work with production/test machines to flash software and troubleshoot communication issues (Ethernet, CAN).
• Support field-based data collection activities and ensure accurate transfer of measurement data.
• Coordinate data-collection requests and project activities between facilities and engineering teams.
• Rotate across office, shop/facility, and field environments as needed.
• Escalate and document technical issues, and collaborate with senior engineers to implement corrective actions.

Shifts & Time Allocation

• Available shifts: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) and 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM).
• Time breakdown:
  • 25% Office work (coordination, documentation)
  • 25% Shop / facility maintenance support
  • 50% Field-based data collection

• Small team (about six employees) with hands-on mentorship.
• Comprehensive training will be provided.
• Open to candidates willing to relocate to the Vets Row / greater Peoria area.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Exposure to or basic understanding of Ethernet and CAN communication tools/protocols (academic or professional experience accepted).

Preferred

• Experience with CANalyzer or CANape.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and basic troubleshooting.

Compensation

• Estimated annual pay: $56,443 (estimated) — actual pay offered by Confidential Client may vary based on experience and other factors. This listing includes the salary figure reported in the original posting.
