What You’ll Do
This entry-level Controls Engineer role supports design, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of control systems used in manufacturing and engineering projects for a Confidential Client. You will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure systems meet specifications, are safe, and deliver reliable data for analysis.
- Assist with electrical/control system design from specification through system completion
- Support testing, evaluation, calibration, and modification of control systems, instruments, and equipment
- Troubleshoot hardware, process, and communication issues (Ethernet, CAN)
- Analyze plant and manufacturing processes and suggest/implement process improvements
- Perform basic technical calculations for electrical requirements, motor controls, and robotic safety
- Collect, validate, and upload test data to engineering servers for analysis
- Assist with installation, testing, and maintenance of control and monitoring equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation of tests, troubleshooting steps, and system performance
- Coordinate schedules and tasks with engineering and operations teams
- Follow applicable safety and regulatory requirements, including robotic safety standards
- Communicate technical status and issues clearly to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related)
- 0–2 years of engineering experience; internships or co-ops considered
- Basic knowledge of Ethernet and CAN communication systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Good computer skills; Linux experience is a plus
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Hands-on lab or controls experience from internships, projects, or class labs
- Familiarity with motor controls, PLCs, or robotic safety practices
- Experience with data acquisition, instrumentation, or control system calibration
- Coursework or projects involving embedded systems, communications protocols, or industrial automation
