Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Contract Specialist (Level I) to support a DARPA-backed R&D program. This is a hybrid, full-time role based in State Farm, VA that requires an Active Secret clearance and approximately 2–3 days in the office each week. The position offers a salary range of $60,000–$110,000 (depending on experience) and a comprehensive benefits package.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

• Prepare and administer Department of Defense R&D contracts (FAR Part 35) and related agreements
• Support pre-award and post-award contract activities — cradle-to-grave contract administration
• Draft and process contract modifications; maintain accurate contract files and records
• Participate in negotiation of contract terms and conditions with government and contractor representatives
• Perform cost and price analysis and assist in development and review of cost proposals
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and other federal procurement regulations; analyze procurement policies and procedures
• Coordinate with contracting officers and cross-functional teams to support contract execution and closeout

Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

• Active Secret security clearance is required (must be active at time of hire)
• Minimum 1 year of government contracting experience with hands-on contract administration exposure
• Familiarity with cost proposals, negotiating contract terms, preparing modifications, and pricing/cost analysis
• Experience or working knowledge of FAR and DFARS — FAR Part 35 experience strongly preferred
• DoD contracting experience preferred; familiarity with DARPA or NAVSEA is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience)
• Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to work in a team supporting senior contracting officers

• Location: State Farm, VA (on-site presence 2–3 days/week; hybrid schedule)

• Salary range: $60,000–$110,000 (placement within range based on experience and qualifications)
