About the Role

Confidential Client seeks a Contract Specialist Level 1 to support Department of Defense research & development contracting. This hybrid role is based in State Farm, VA (1 day onsite per week required). You will support contract administration, negotiations, modifications, compliance, and price/cost analysis for R&D and federal acquisition projects.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and administer DoD research & development contracts consistent with FAR Part 35 and applicable acquisition regulations.
• Support contract negotiations: terms, conditions, and pricing discussions.
• Draft, review, and process contract modifications and supporting documentation.
• Analyze cost proposals, pricing data, procurement policies, and procedures.
• Maintain complete contract files and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and internal policies.
• Coordinate with program, legal, finance, and procurement stakeholders to resolve contractual issues.

Qualifications

Required

• 1+ years of experience in government procurement, contract administration, modifications, cost proposal preparation, or pricing analysis.
• Familiarity with FAR and DFARS regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
• Active Secret clearance required at time of hire.
• Strong analytical, written, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred

• Experience supporting DoD R&D programs or Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs).
• Prior experience with federal pricing analysis or cost volume review.
• Basic contract negotiation experience.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $60,000 - $110,000+ per year (actual pay based on experience and qualifications).
• Full benefits package: PTO, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and other benefits as required by law.
• This position is classified as FULL_TIME.
